Fiscal printer

A fiscal printer is a receipt printer, or a module attached to one, that a tax authority has certified to record every sale in tamper-proof memory and print a receipt carrying a fiscal number, so that the state can audit a venue's sales from the device itself.
Regimes differ by country
Some countries require a certified device in the venue; others require certified software with a signing module, real-time reporting to the tax authority, or a QR code on the receipt that the buyer can verify; some require nothing. The obligation, the receipt's mandatory content and the penalties come from the authority's own specification, not from a vendor's summary.
What the POS has to do
Send each sale to the device or module in the order it happened, print what the device returns, keep its own copy of the fiscal number against the receipt, and refuse to lose a sale between the two. Voids and refunds have their own rules and their own numbers.
Why it decides the product
A POS that cannot drive the local fiscal path cannot legally sell in that country. It is the first item in any country research, and the long pole in any launch, because certification takes months.
How Brindola does it
The fiscal path is a seam in the product with a driver per country. A country without a regime has no driver and no claim. Receipt numbering, voids and the fiscal number on the document follow the driver.
