Internet and local connection outages
Brindola keeps the order, preparation and local payment record in the venue. Internet loss and loss of the connection to the main device are different situations. For running a whole service through an outage, with card payments, delivery orders and a test to run beforehand, see When the internet goes down.
| Task | Connection it needs |
|---|---|
| Order entry and records on the main device | The running main device |
| Shared orders and kitchen progress on paired screens | The venue network and main device |
| Network printing | A reachable printer on the venue network |
| New delivery-platform orders | Internet and the platform connection |
| Backoffice sync | Internet or another reachable route to the backoffice |
| Authority document submission and external email | Their external service connection |
| Card authorisation | The bank terminal or provider’s required connection |
Internet is down
Section titled “Internet is down”Continue local work while watching the status of external queues. Do not promise that a newly arriving platform order or authority submission has reached its destination until its result is visible. A terminal may have its own mobile connection; check its actual approval.
A paired screen lost the main device
Section titled “A paired screen lost the main device”Check that the main computer is on and awake, then check the network. Some work may be waiting locally on the disconnected device. Restore the connection and inspect the resulting orders before recreating anything. Do not treat a disconnected companion as a fully independent replacement terminal.
The main device has failed
Section titled “The main device has failed”Keep remaining devices and their data intact. Use the recovery procedure and designate one main device when resuming. Avoid starting several independent venues or restoring an old copy while staff are still writing new orders elsewhere.
When the connection returns
Section titled “When the connection returns”Check queued closes, documents, email and platform work separately. A healthy local network does not prove that an external service accepted its pending requests. Record the error and the specific order or document when asking for help.
